I agree that I am completely in love with my chi. I does wonders for my thick frizzy hair. I've had mine for a little over two years. It stopped working after I tried using it in Australia and I think the high voltage just totally toasted it. I'm so disappointed! I'm hesitant though about getting a new one although you can get discount ones online for around $60 or even at stores like Marshalls or Ross which is what you'll pay for anything half descent.

Wow, how I wish I had read some of these reviews before purchasing. Mine has done the same as several of the others...Worked great for about 14 months and then it literally died. For the money that is spent on these irons they should last for years! Don't think I will waste my money on sending in for a replacement!

i loved my chi when i first got it and, just like everyone on this page, the cord is totally defective. i have to twist and turn it in all different positions just to get it to turn on. it is such a hassle that i dont even use it anymore and have had to use a flat iron from rite aid =/.. this should not be happening when you spend $200 on a flat iron!

I love my Chi Flat Iron. I've had it for 5 years. I hesitated on purchasing due to the cost of the flat iron, but I love it.

I am placing this comment in hopes that you will reconsider the way you make your cord. My flat iron works perfectly...and now I have problems with the cord. I need to purchase another flat iron, however, I am hesitating purchasing the Chi, which I absolutely love, due to issues that all my friends have had with the cord as well.

Please consider redesigning your cord!

Thank you

I have 3 teenage daughters, each one has their own Chi flat iron. All three have had to be replaced within one year. Luckily they were purchased at Beauty Brands and all were replaced with furnished receipt. Within 10 months 2 of the flat irons are malfunctioning and Beauty Brands is no longer in business. My advice: Purchase a different brand that is more durable and reliable

I don't know what everyone is complaining about...My Chi broke after 1 1/2 yrs, I sent it in just like this website suggested and in about 3 weeks I received a new one. I thought that $35 is pretty good for a brand new CHI.

I've had mine for over three years now. It stopped working about 1.5 years in, and I mailed it in with a $30 check to have it repaired. It worked great until now...about another 1.5 years. I'm planning to send in another check for to have it repaired. It seems silly to buy a whole new one if they'll repair it for $35!

I've had my chi iron for almost 2 years and so far have been very happy with it it stopped working a few days ago, just wouldn't turn on at all. so frustrating but today i tried it again before i was going to go buy a new one and it turned on i still think I'm going to buy a new one so it doesn't happen again i've been very happy with the product but i have heard that 2 years is about all you get out of them

I am suprised by so many people's bad luck. I have had my chi for over six years and it just stopped working today. I have to say that is the best investment I have ever made. I use it DAILY! I will be sending mine in to be fixed. I can't live without it.

i bought my chi a couple years ago and it stopped working. for a 100$ flat iron, it sure as heck should have lasted more than 2 years. My cheap a** one lasted 10 years! Not cool!

My Chi-Iron of 6 years quit working! That is a long time, I took very good care of it until about a year ago I put the chi on the iron and burned through, so for 1 year its had electrical tape on it. AND I had a feeling I should keep it at home and not travel with it. WHEN I DID TRAVEL WITH IT JUST TO MY BAG FOR A NIGHT DOWN THE STREET AT MY DADS I came home and it quit working. So I dont know, my mom bought it at a salon for me, I just bought one on Amazon, and saved 45 Bucks including tax, so hope it lasts long! But the Chi-Iron was a miracle to my hair! I asked my hair guy how long they usually lasts since they use them all day every day and he said about a year. So mine for 6 years, pretty long time! Take care of them and dont bang them around or travel with them much and when you do treat it like a baby. Mine stays in the same spot for a long time, so hope that helps!!

I have purchased a chi from a Solon that was no where near my house, after one week the light kept blinking on and off and would not get hot, I had to go out my way to return it, luckily they replaced it with another one, which I've had for a little over a year. My on and off button just cracked in half, when i pulled it out the socket, now I can throw it away, due to a minor defect, for an expensive iron.

I'm so disappointed!! The flat irons are the best but the durability sucks!! I purchased a CHI flat iron for $150 from my salon and within 1 year it shorted out and doesn't work anymore!!!
There is no help for the customer!!

Evidently there is some kind of defect with the cord. I have had my Chi for five months and it quit working yesterday. The light would not come on. When I jiggled the cord it would come on briefly. Now it does not come on at all. I told my husband I wouldn't be surprised if the company who makes the Chi flat irons purposely make the cords defective. I can't believe all the customers who are having the same exact problem as myself. I purchased my Chi at Target, so I don't know if the warranty will be honored. I am going to try and find my receipt today. I hope I didn't throw it away. I kept the box until last month and finally threw that away. I have plenty of appliances that use electrical cords, such as my blowdryer and I have used them for years without any problems with the cords. I'm now in the market for a new flat iron. I'm just not sure which brand to choose.

I am very disappointed in this product. My daughters Chi failed and now my Chi has stopped working. Both worked for about 1 1/2 years. Now I can gamble 35.00 and have mine fixed. Not very good odds. I am going to look at other brands. Chi rating D-. Don't buy one.
