Warranty Information on CHI Flat Irons
All CHI Flat Irons and other CHI appliances are guaranteed to be free of defects and workmanship errors for one year from purchase.
If you are a consumer or a salon inquiring about returning or getting service on your CHI flat irons, please read carefully the following message, which should answer any question you may have. If you need additional information, please send an e-mail to chitools@farouk.com or call 1-800-237-9175 x 5171. You can return your CHI flat iron at the place of purchase and they can exchange it for you, or you may send it back to use for replacement if:
- You have your receipt and it was purchased less than one year ago. You may use a credit card statement or cancelled check if you do not have receipt.
- It was not dropped or otherwise caused to stop working by user.
- It was not purchased from eBay or other unauthorized Internet retailers.
Please include the following information with your iron:
- A copy of your receipt (NOT THE ORIGINAL)
- Check or money order for $15.00 to cover shipping and handling.
- A note with your name, physical address you want your replacement sent to via FedEx or UPS and a daytime phone number. It is very important for your to put your phone number in the box so that we may contact you if there is any problem shipping your iron.

Very unhappy with the CHI product when I purchased my two CHI's and was told if I had any problems after the year warrenty they would replace/repair the item for 35.00. After calling today they no longer do replacement or repairs after a year. Stupid I would not have spent 130 if I knew they couldnt guarantee the stupid product for over a year. Absolutely ridiculous service as well.

This is ridiculous!! I will never buy a product from them again, if my Chi not working wasn't bad enough, now I have to read about how it is just a cheap product, that falls apart... Same exact problem with mine ladies!! CHI IS CHEAP!!!

I had my CHI for three months, today I plugged it in and turned it on and it didn't work! The light was on and red but the iron wouldnt heat up! I don't have the reciept so is there any other way I can return it? I'm really disappointed!

On my 2nd, and it has died. I agree with what someone said about keeping receipts and returning/exchanging in the warranty. Sure CHI does a good job and replacing or repairing, but why are they having to constantly replace or fix for the same reason....bad wiring. My sister and mom have both been through two as well. That is 6 CHI flat irons in 2 years. Ridiculous! I am done with CHI.

I've had my CHI for just over a year. I absolutely loved it when it worked. I went to plug it in one day and it suddenly stopped working. I haven't been able to contact the company yet, but I hope they can replace it without a problem. Let say a prayer.

I've had a total of 3 CHI original black flat irons , every last one of them has shorted at the box, very disappointed in the durability of the product but the quality of the out come from using the flat iron is awesome.. just having to buy a new one at $130.00 a POP gets old and upsetting...

I have had my CHI for 5 years and it has worked great. Recently the cord connected to the straightener began to spark. I am sending it back with $35 and they are sending me a new one. That sounds like a great deal to me.

Katie- I know you wrote this back in January, but I wanted to comment on your observation about the "matte" vs. the "plastic" My daughter has a shiny hot pink girly one. I had the matted black one. I noticed a big difference. Hers doesn't grip as tightly and makes me go a lot slower to get the same heat on my hair. Also, I can't seem to flip with hers either. It kind of leaves my hair frizzy and flat instead of the great styling I used to get with my old one (that has now been shorted out like everyone else has described). I thought it was the style of CHI. I was hoping I'd still get the same quality if I bought my same exact one again. But now I'm worried after reading all of the comments. I wanted to know if the $35 replacement deal worked too.

i just bought a chi 4 days ago, and i used it twice .tonight i went to straighten my hair and the led light sunddenly stopped blinking red and it no longer gets hot, taking it into the store i purchased it at tomorrow to exchange it, but can't say im impressed with chi right now.

Since March 2010 I have had 4 replacements! When you send in your broken one you will have to pay $35 for a new one... Because they only give you a 90 day warranty. I have to say that the iron work great BUT the quality of the iron is poor and NOT worth a penny!
