Warranty Information on CHI Flat Irons
All CHI Flat Irons and other CHI appliances are guaranteed to be free of defects and workmanship errors for one year from purchase.
If you are a consumer or a salon inquiring about returning or getting service on your CHI flat irons, please read carefully the following message, which should answer any question you may have. If you need additional information, please send an e-mail to chitools@farouk.com or call 1-800-237-9175 x 5171. You can return your CHI flat iron at the place of purchase and they can exchange it for you, or you may send it back to use for replacement if:
- You have your receipt and it was purchased less than one year ago. You may use a credit card statement or cancelled check if you do not have receipt.
- It was not dropped or otherwise caused to stop working by user.
- It was not purchased from eBay or other unauthorized Internet retailers.
Please include the following information with your iron:
- A copy of your receipt (NOT THE ORIGINAL)
- Check or money order for $15.00 to cover shipping and handling.
- A note with your name, physical address you want your replacement sent to via FedEx or UPS and a daytime phone number. It is very important for your to put your phone number in the box so that we may contact you if there is any problem shipping your iron.

My 2nd CHI hairdryer in 1 year is now blowing only cold air. Saw a blue spark and then...only cold air. Is 10 months old. Will never buy CHI again.

i purchased a chi straightner for my daughter for xmas and less than 2 weeks later it stopped working,wouldnt heat up and the light didnt come on...just shorted or something. contacted the company and due to puchasing online they wouldnt do anything for me. my chi has lasted years without any problems. now looking for a reputable place to buy one that has reasonable prices!!!

I bought a Chi iron on May 5,2011....so less than 8 months ago, and as many of you stated, the one side quit working. This is the second Chi I have purchased in 3 years. I kept the receipt and contacted the salon where I purchased it, because Farouk says that is what you can do. Still waiting for that return phone call....I will keep you posted! ha!!

Seems like so many comments from devoted customers would make CHI reconsider it's warranty policy. I have had my CHI straightener for only a year and 3 months and it just stopped working. Given the commonality of this occurring to your customers how about an extension on your warranty?
Get with it before you lose your following! No company is beyond it's customers.

This is the third Chi that has stopped working after a couple of months. How can a $130 product be so defective? Unless the company makes this right I will never stop telling people to avoid Chi.

I have also only had my Chi for 13 or 14 months and it has stopped working. I would have expected a product that costs so much and has such a big reputation to hold up better. I won't buy another one either.

I love how the CHI works, however it does not last for more than a year. It's almost as if they are designed to fail within that time period in hopes of you purchasing another one or doing nothing about it. This will be the third time I have had to deal with it burning out. I got the "Bling CHI" for x-mas a few years ago and I found it very disappointing that they only send you th original CHI and not the one you previously purchased. I would not reccommend this item to future purchasers.

This is the THIRD CHI flat iron that has randomly stopped working on me! I would expect a $130.00 flat iron to hold up for more than a year and 3 months, but apparently I was wrong. I may as well go to Wal-Mart and but a $20 Revlon one... I am sure it would last longer! I will never buy another CHI again! They are a complete rip-off!

I have loved my Chi but after using it everyday the plastic part of the plug has broken. I was so excited that it had a lifetime warranty but after reading this I see it is only a one year warranty....Is this false advertisement????
