Warranty Information on CHI Flat Irons
All CHI Flat Irons and other CHI appliances are guaranteed to be free of defects and workmanship errors for one year from purchase.
If you are a consumer or a salon inquiring about returning or getting service on your CHI flat irons, please read carefully the following message, which should answer any question you may have. If you need additional information, please send an e-mail to chitools@farouk.com or call 1-800-237-9175 x 5171. You can return your CHI flat iron at the place of purchase and they can exchange it for you, or you may send it back to use for replacement if:
- You have your receipt and it was purchased less than one year ago. You may use a credit card statement or cancelled check if you do not have receipt.
- It was not dropped or otherwise caused to stop working by user.
- It was not purchased from eBay or other unauthorized Internet retailers.
Please include the following information with your iron:
- A copy of your receipt (NOT THE ORIGINAL)
- Check or money order for $15.00 to cover shipping and handling.
- A note with your name, physical address you want your replacement sent to via FedEx or UPS and a daytime phone number. It is very important for your to put your phone number in the box so that we may contact you if there is any problem shipping your iron.

I love my CHI, however this is the second time I have to return it because it just stopped working, hopefully since the company has started (from what I heard)manufacturing in the U.S. again it will be the quality we expect for $150.00 Iron..

Was also told their was a life time warranty and my switch broke and then shortage and stop working. Debating on buying another after false advertising but loved mine.

Um....My chi just broke after about 5 years....suddenly no power. I thought I had a lifetime warranty too? Whats the deal? I bought it for that purpose. Lame chi....Lame.

I got a chi a 2 years ago and it's having electrical problems, will not stay on and is making the funny sounding wiring noises. So I'm not using it now. I was hoping there was at least a tow year warranty on these high priced but worth it items. My first chi lasted for 4 or 5 years (I think) Anyway, Why would I want to spend over $100 every year for a straightener??
My mother had her Conair Dryer for 15 years, I've had my last curling iron for 6 years. What is the deal chi?

Well so much for the lifetime warranty. I have thoroughly enjoyed using my Chi for the past 3 years and this morning I plugged it up and Nothing.... Just purchased another one...beginning to think that might not have been a good idea?!? But they really shouldn't say lifetime warranty unless they mean it!

I am beyond disgusted with the Chi customer service. I purchased the straightener because of the life time warranty well my switch broke and figured I would send it in and I find it only has a 1-year warranty. When I purchased mine from JC Penney I was told about the lifetime warranty and kept my reciept. What a waste of 160.00. I will never purchase another Chi product ever!!! After reading all the comments are you going to tell me that everyone who thought they had a lifetime warranty are lying? I am glad they are being reported to the Better Businees Bureau, we all work hard for our money and look for deals well ladies this was one of the worst investments I've ever made!! Lesson learned.

We paid $140.00 and it already has a wiring defect and strongly would recommend not buying a Chi! We purchased a much less expensive brand that provides the exact same results! SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Well this is quite a surprise, I've heard so many good things about Chi and how their lifetime warranty does wonders. I just bought one for my girlfriend and I know now that before the end of each year, we'll be sending it back to get a replacement regardless if the flat-iron is still working brand new or not. Better keep record of this receipt *sigh* Great...

I am very luck that my house did not burn down,the light that indicated that it was on, kept going in and out, then it started sparking and had flames coming from where the cord goes into the flat iron,i have it for a little over a year

I was also told it came w a lifetime warranty! Finding this info now that says it's only one year is a shock/news to me. I bought mine at Ulta about 3 yrs ago. As of yesterday, plugged it in like normal but the light did not come on, but it was warm to the touch. I couldn't use it so I styled my hair differently. Later at night I popped it back on b/c I was going out - nothing! No light, no heat; it just stopped heating! $125 down the drain Im realizing now that I just found out CHI's lifetime warranty really means 1 year. Not happy.
