Warranty Information on CHI Flat Irons
All CHI Flat Irons and other CHI appliances are guaranteed to be free of defects and workmanship errors for one year from purchase.
If you are a consumer or a salon inquiring about returning or getting service on your CHI flat irons, please read carefully the following message, which should answer any question you may have. If you need additional information, please send an e-mail to chitools@farouk.com or call 1-800-237-9175 x 5171. You can return your CHI flat iron at the place of purchase and they can exchange it for you, or you may send it back to use for replacement if:
- You have your receipt and it was purchased less than one year ago. You may use a credit card statement or cancelled check if you do not have receipt.
- It was not dropped or otherwise caused to stop working by user.
- It was not purchased from eBay or other unauthorized Internet retailers.
Please include the following information with your iron:
- A copy of your receipt (NOT THE ORIGINAL)
- Check or money order for $15.00 to cover shipping and handling.
- A note with your name, physical address you want your replacement sent to via FedEx or UPS and a daytime phone number. It is very important for your to put your phone number in the box so that we may contact you if there is any problem shipping your iron.

My chi has been alright but not the be-all, do-all I was told a CHI would be for my hair. Last wekk it started to smell like HOT FISH OIL!! The local beauty supply said that means the wires inside are corroding and to send it in on the LifeTime Warranty. Ha!! I can see that will be futile! I gues I'll be spebding some money soon on another better brand.

I loved my chi!! Had it for over 5 years before the switch broke! It still heated up great! I will be buying another one today!!!

I hate to hear all of the negative comments about the Chi. I have had mine for 6 years, and it has been nothing but fabulous! It works like a charm still, I have never had to replace it, heats up great, stays heated and on, not a single solitary issue with mine. I use it daily, and I have naturally curly hair, so it really has to work. Maybe they just don't make them like they use too.

I bought a chi christmas of 2010 and have always followed the instructions such as "wrapping the cord a certain way" and all of that. Recently, it started turning off after I had only had it on for a few minutes, then if you wanted it to stay on you had to hold it a certain way. This only lasted a few days, and it started sparking this morning. I will never be the owner of another chi.

I am really disappointed. When a product gives a life time warranty that is what is expected. 130$ is a serious purchase and when you spend this type of money you want to make sure that you are getting the value. I had my Chi for 6 month and the heating pad was not working as well as when I first bought it. So I went back to the retail that I bought it from and they told me that I could not replace it after the 90 days I explained that they had told me about the lifetime warranty and still no go. Extremely frustrated! I gave it to my daughter and she has had it for about 2 years now and it is just falling apart the plastic parts are coming off and the heating pad is falling out. Very cheaply made and a very disappointed customer here. I have three daughters so that would have been a 500$ investment that Chi will never see from me. I will shop around a get a better made and better customer service hot iron. I would never recommend this product for the simple fact that the customer service is very bad. I knew at that moment that I would never be able to rely on Chi for customer service or any repair service for that matter. At this point and time I will be sending a claim to the Better Business Bureau from reading all the comments I do believe my claim will be valid. I suggest if there is any doubts on buying this product ladies do not waste your money. A chi was an investment and you should be treated like a valued customer!

I had bought a Chi last Spring and did not use it much in the summer only to realize in September it had broke.. I returned it to the store with some begging and pleading and got a new Chi and did not have a problem with it for the past year.. Now when I turn it on it heats up for a couple minutes and turns right off... I do not recommend the Chi to anyone it's an expensive hassle! My Chi is no overused and still looks brand new.. for the hundred dollars I spent on it I would expect it to have a better life span!

I am now nervous as I begin my search for my Chi flat iron receipt. Had my Chi less than a year and it is broken. Ugh! 15 Bucks to have one sent back! Ridiculous! Their product broke, I am inconvenienced without one...they should have customer service and send the new one free of charge

I've had my CHI for about 2 years, but it has only been used for the last 6 months. I bought it at Costco but I have verified that it is authentic. When I plugged it in today, it would not come on. I am so very disappointed and I will never buy another CHI. I will also tell anyone that listens to buy something that actually lasts. You should absolutely be ashamed, CHI, that you make a $150 product that comes with only a 1 year warranty.

Can't believe I spent all this money the only reason I did was the papers inside the box said lifetime warranty when in fact its not true!!! Then u expect us to pay for shipping shame on u guys!!! Just might have to turn u in to the BOB & Attorney General Thanks for the waste of money!!!

I was told when i bought my chi that it had a life warranty on it... this is bull****! i'v had it for almost three years, but before it had another one that broke and you replaced it after one year... i will never purchase your products again.
