Warranty Information on CHI Flat Irons

All CHI Flat Irons and other CHI appliances are guaranteed to be free of defects and workmanship errors for one year from purchase.

If you are a consumer or a salon inquiring about returning or getting service on your CHI flat irons, please read carefully the following message, which should answer any question you may have. If you need additional information, please send an e-mail to chitools@farouk.com or call 1-800-237-9175 x 5171.

You can return your CHI flat iron at the place of purchase and they can exchange it for you, or you may send it back to use for replacement if:

  • You have your receipt and it was purchased less than one year ago. You may use a credit card statement or cancelled check if you do not have receipt.
  • It was not dropped or otherwise caused to stop working by user.
  • It was not purchased from eBay or other unauthorized Internet retailers.

Please include the following information with your iron:

  • A copy of your receipt (NOT THE ORIGINAL)
  • Check or money order for $15.00 to cover shipping and handling.
  • A note with your name, physical address you want your replacement sent to via FedEx or UPS and a daytime phone number. It is very important for your to put your phone number in the box so that we may contact you if there is any problem shipping your iron.

In order to track your shipment, we recommend using UPS, Fedex or registered mail.

Please allow 3-5 weeks for you to receive your replacement.

  • If you have purchased the original black CHI iron and:
  • it was purchased more than one year ago
  • you do not have your receipt
  • or, it was purchased from eBay or other unauthorized Internet retailers

You can contact Salon Art to have it repaired at the rate of $30.00.

Alriiigght soo my CHI just keep turning off on me for no reason. I try restarting it by hitting the red button a dozen times and it stays on for a few minutes, but turns off again. I've had my CHI iron for just under a year and I want to know why the hell it keeps shorting out after I spent all this money on it? I MEAN I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD IT FOR A YEAR! Unfortunately, I bought it off a different website so they said I couldn't return it. UGHH I REALLY need it to work. I straighten my very thick curly hair everyday, and I have no money to get a new one. I'm screwed.

Just bought another Chi flat iron - I was desperate - thought my 1 1/2 year old Chi could be repaired. Found out it can't and customer service really didn't care about my problem. I will be lucky if this one lasts. Will NEVER purchase another Chi. Very disappointed - it was not cheap!

I bought a CHI from a state beauty supply. I am a licensed cosmetologist and thought I was getting a good deal. Little did I know the product was faulty and would only work for 6 months! I took it back with hopes to just get it replaced for another one and they want to charge me $10.00 for shipping and handling!!! This is a product they have on hand and carry all the time! They sold me a bad CHI!!!! I should not be responsible for shipping. The warranty replacement program is TERRIBLE!!!!

I've had my chi for at least 5 years! It's always worked great till today. It just quit. :( I was told it had a lifetime guarantee but thats NOT what I'm seeing on here. I HAVE to have my chi!! I have very thick hair and without the chi it is frizzy! For those of you that its drying out your hair you have to use product to protect your hair!! Chi is the best becuse of how hot it gets!! I won't ever use anything else!

my mother bought me the breast cancer awareness pink CHI for my birthday just under a year ago. it recently stopped heating up. now this makes me very sad. my mother does not have very much money and she saved up to get me something very nice. it appears that im not the only person with this problem. i do not have the receipt and it seems like CHI only replaces the black CHIs. i dont feel as if i got $100 worth of use out of it at all. if CHI was willing to replace mine i would be a satisfied customer but i havent found any answers to my problem yet.

Horrible product, rude and unprofessional customer service agents and the worst return/warranty program ever!!! Don't ever buy one of these.

My two daughters and I have always loved our CHIs. They typically last a year or two, then need to be replaced. I always keep a new spare one on hand - we own four. When one of them malfunctions, that CHI is replaced with the new one, then I send the broken one back to Farouk Systems. They have always replaced them with new CHIs - but for a small price. The address to return your broken CHI is: Farouk Systems, Attn: Service Center, 250 Pennbright Dr., Houston, TX 77090-5905. Simply send them a $35 check made out to Farouk Systems, then include a note with your name & address and reason for the return. Simple as that! They always send a new one in a timely manner. That said, I do wish they lasted longer, but can't imagine life without one.
