 Know what youre buying!!The chi is a great choice-if youre buying the right model. Ladies make sure you buy the original chi made in the USA.. not the fancy coloured ones made in chine. #1 they break faster and #2 they have a shorter warranty!! amazing!!!This straightener works wonders with my thick head of hair. The result is pin straight, smooth and shiny! If you also have thick hair, buy this product. It is absolutely worth the money!  Broke In Less Than 6 MonthsI've bought CHI Flat Irons in the past, and they worked great. but after owning this flat iron for less than 6 months one of the plates stopped heating up. I totally regret buying this product. My CHII have had my Chi for about 2 years now and have had NO problems! It gets hot quick and STAYS hot.My hair used to be really frizzy, especially just after wash. When I use my Chi on it, my hair looks so shiny and healthy!!! I'm gonna stick to CHI. Besides, I don't wrap the cord around my flat iron, so there won't be any short outs in the cord. Others say the cord short out easily should pay attention not to wrap the cord around.  pretty good BUT....well i got my chi april 2010 and it is already broken. the plate is coming out so it won't turn on. my mom said to type to chi.com but it wont let me get on chi.com. she said if i wrote them than they would send me a new one because i have a waranty. so if anyone knows how i do that can u email me?? because a chi is the only straightener that works on my hair very good without killing it. The best!! b sure to have the proper warranty though!!!I first used this straighter at a friends house and noticed how much nicer my hair straightened out, it somehow minimizes my split ends so much and makes my hair look so shinny and healthy so I had to buy it for myself. I love it! I read a lot of reviews that they die early so I would STRONGLY recommend getting a chi at a store that takes care of the warranty for you. I got mine at trade secrets, it has a 2 year warranty(mine is the US model, the made in CHINA model has a 1 year warranty!)I just have to keep the papers, bill, and packaging and bring it to the store and they will take care of the warranty for me! best everit's really a great flat iron. It heats up extremely fast and keeps hair super super soft. I got lots of compliments saying I've just been to the salon. It's lasted almost 3 years and hope it last long...  Not For MeI purchased my chi flat iron at J.C.Penney. I paid $100.00 for it. I used the reccommended products along with it. I just noticed after about 4 uses that my hair was shedding and getting thinner. I found hair on the bathroom floor which frightened me. It actually was too hot for my hair. It burned a very short bang above my eyebrows. I had to cover the bang with hair from the middle portion of my head for over 3 months until it grew over it. I was not pleased with this product. I did like the results from other friends who used it. It was not a product for my hair type. CHI OriginalChi original works great! I have natural thick, curly hair, none of my cheap straighteners before get it sleek and straight like chi. It works very smoothly through my hair, no pulling no snagging with no frizz. I also check out other chi models but still chose the original. It's absolutely a good buy! I have not had a problem with my ChiI love the Chi.
