Chi finally wearing out
Kristin said on Wed, Aug 1st, 2007

I bought by CHI iron about 6 years ago and it has performed consistently up until recently. The only thing that is wrong with it now is that the cord is coming lose where it connects to the iron and if it is not held a certain way, the iron goes off. I am still able to use it so this is more of an annoyance than anything else. I think I must be one of the lucky ones since I have had my iron for so long without problems. Now after reading the experiences of other people, I'm sort of    afraid to buy another one. I think I will keep my old iron even after I buy a new one in case I get a dud.

great straight, but curly?

This is by far the best product I have ever used to straighten my naturally curly hair, and I tried everything before!!    I have been using the Chi for 2 years and have not had the problems I have read about in other reviews.    My only concern is that when I want to go curly, my curl is no longer the same as it used to be.    Since using the Chi to straighten my curls, my hair has never been the same.    What used to be curl is now just frizz.

Great While it Lasts

I have been straightening my hair for years and the Chi is the best flat iron I've found.    It's amazing.    However, it doesn't last long!    My first one died after about a year and I figured it was just bad luck so I bought another one.    I've had the second one for about 8 months and it just broke too!    I would not reccomend buying a Chi if you want a long-lasting flat iron.

What happened??
Sara said on Tue, May 22nd, 2007

My hair depends on the Chi! I bought one back in 2005 and it was stolen (it wasn't working too well anyway - would turn off every min or so), so I got another that Christmas. 17 months later, here I am with frizzy hair because IT WON'T TURN ON! What's up with that?! I paid $137.50 for it just so it won't turn on anymore. It was fine yesterday. I LOVE this thing, but it doesn't last long. I'm a little dissapointed, as I expected (for that price) the Chi to last longer than it did (both times)

the CHI is the best flat iron ive ever used. i've had mine for three or four years but now it wont turn on. three or four years is pretty good though to get out of a flat iron. it works wonderfully. i just paid 80 dollars for a cricket and its terrible. i think the CHI is definetly worth the little extra money.

The Best

My hair stylist used this on me and I was so amazed that it got my naturally curly hair so straight.    I was hesitant to spend over a 100 dollars for a flat iron but finally gave in and bought one from Ulta.    It has been the best 100 dollars I have spent.    All my friends want me to do their hair for special occasions, etc...    I have had my chi for about a year and will plan to buy another when the time comes.    I clean the plates with a cotton ball with a little rubbing alcohol to get any product off and it cleans up beautifully.    I really want one of the "colorful" ones next.

After 4 years of great performance my Chi is still working perfectly. The only product which makes my frizzy and coarse hair straight and shiny.

chi iron

I had my chi flat iron for 3 years. In those years i had to replace the chi iron 2 times. The first time the plate fell out, and the second was a shortage. To make the iron work I have to squeeze it hard for it to turn on.    i do not deny that the chi works, or i wouldn't have bout another one. I just hate that I have had SO many problems with the chi iron that cost SO much.

Good while it lasted!

All of you who were happy with your chi for only the first few months you had it--I know how you feel! Mine lasted less than a year before it wouldn't come on anymore.    And...this is the second one I've had trouble with.    After my first one stopped working, I called the salon where I'd purchased it.    The girl there told me to be sure not to wrap the cord around the chi when storing it because that would damage the wiring inside.    So, my mom bought another one and I was careful to keep the cord straight.    But guess what?    It didn't matter!    After less than a year, it quit working.    I'm sick of them and wouldn't advise anyone to waste their money on one.
