I bought my first (and only chi) three years ago this August. I have loved it and have always recommended it to friends. Now- NO, NOT any more. This morning during my regular "get ready" routine, I plugged in my CHI and went to the kitchen to get my coffee, only a few seconds later a disgusting smell of burnt plastic engulfed our family home. I returned to the bathroom instantly, and just in time, my CHI straightener was smoking from the on/off switch with little sparks shooting out. Luckily I didn't plug it in and go down stairs or leave it unattended for even a few seconds longer cause then my story would have had a sad ending. I would not recommend this product especially to people with teen age girls that tend to "forget" their straighteners on.

BUT PLEASE NOTE: I JUST BOUGHT MY CHI 5 DAYS AGO AND IT ALREADY DOESN'T WORK! I wish I had read the reviews before I paid $160.00 for nothing. It won't turn on anymore after using it only 5 times. I was ready to tell everyone how great the thing work for my hair but not now. And to make things worse: I live in Canada so mailing it to Texas for reparis would cost too much. And I just checked the policy at the salon I bought it from: "No exchanges or refunds". Buyer beware!
